How much does vegetation removal cost?
- Mike charges an hourly rate rather than a fixed day quote — you only pay for the hours worked. After a free on-site visit, he gives you an estimated hours range so you know what to budget for. Most overgrown sections are cleared within a day. The hourly rate includes the 5-ton digger, the operator, the narrow-body tipper truck, and all standard attachments (drilling auger, grab attachment, multiple buckets). Do you remove the green waste too, or do I need a skip bin?
- Mike handles all disposal. Vegetation is separated from large stumps on-site — green waste goes onto the tipper truck or into large skip bins and straight to green waste disposal sites. Spoil, dirt, clay, and large stumps go to a separate dump. Splitting materials this way keeps disposal costs as low as possible for you. No leftover piles, no organising your own disposal.
Can you remove tree stumps and root systems?
- Yes. The grab attachment lifts stumps and root balls out whole, rather than grinding them down. The vegetation that comes out doesn't grow back — which matters for kikuyu, blackberry, and other regrowing pests.
What if the job takes longer than estimated?
- Mike charges by the hour, so you're only paying for time actually worked. If the job finishes faster than estimated, you pay less. If something unexpected comes up mid-job (services where they shouldn't be, hidden concrete, thicker root systems than expected), Mike calls you before any extra work happens — you stay in control of the cost.
