Site Clearing FAQs
How much does site clearing cost?
- Mike charges an hourly rate rather than a fixed day quote — you only pay for the hours worked. After a free on-site visit, he gives you an estimated hours range so you know what to budget for. Most clearings are done within a day. The hourly rate includes the 5-ton digger, the operator, the narrow-body tipper truck, and all standard attachments (drilling auger, grab attachment, multiple buckets). Call Mike directly for his current hourly rate.
Do you remove the spoil and debris too?
- Yes. The tipper truck is included in the hourly rate and Mike hauls everything direct to the dump. You don't need to organise a separate cartage company or skip bin.
How long does a typical site clearing take?
- Most clearings are done within a day. Larger or more complex jobs (bigger sections, heavier concrete, fully overgrown lifestyle blocks) can run 1–2 days — Mike scopes timeframe at the free on-site visit.
What if the job takes longer than estimated?
- Mike charges by the hour, so you're only paying for time actually worked. If the job finishes faster than estimated, you pay less. If something unexpected comes up mid-job (services where they shouldn't be, hidden concrete, thicker root systems than expected), Mike calls you before any extra work happens — you stay in control of the cost.
Can you work alongside our build schedule?
- Yes — Mike works regularly with builders across South and East Auckland and can book clearings to fit your construction timeline. The earlier you let him know, the easier it is to slot in.
What's the difference between site clearing and vegetation removal?
- Site clearing is for structural debris — concrete, old decks, foundations, dirt, surface material. Vegetation removal is for living plants — hedges, flax, kikuyu, tree stumps. If you need both, Mike often handles them in the same job.
Will my site be left clean and ready for the next stage?
- Yes. Mike's reputation is built on tidy handovers. Site swept, debris gone, ground levelled where required. Whether the next person on site is a builder, a surveyor, or you, the site is ready.
What suburbs do you cover?
- South and East Auckland — Beachlands, Botany, Clevedon, Flat Bush, Glen Innes, Howick, Mission Bay, Mount Wellington, Pakuranga, Pukekohe, Takanini, Whitford. Outside that area? Call Mike — he travels for the right job.
